Michelle & Jacob’s Wedding + Reception at Grimmel Farm

As weddings go...this one rocked! Michelle & Jacob said "I do" and then enjoyed a huge celebration on their family farm; Grimmel Farm in Jarretsville. I was the DJ/MC for the bride's sister's wedding 6 years ago so I knew this family and how much fun they would be. Working along side the ladies from Moore & Co. and Kimberly Brooke Photography as well as folks from Lavon Films and Simply Elegant Catering, we knocked it out of the park! 280 family members and guests were wined and dined and then partied hard! Michelle & Jacob danced their first dance as a married couple to "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait and their guests grooved through the night to music ranging from Steve Earle, The Beatles and Van Morrison to Conway Twitty, Salt-N-Pepa and The Rolling Stones. Chrissie & Eric’s Wedding + Reception at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

I made my way across the Bay Bridge yesterday for Chrissie & Eric's wedding and reception at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. What a great venue and perfect day to get married! After a short and sweet ceremony guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while overlooking the Bay. The newlyweds made their grand entrance into the ballroom along with their V.I.P.'s and headed straight into their first dance as a married couple which was The Eli Young Band's "Crazy Girl". Chrissie's bridesmaids were so much fun and they were out dancing before the meal even ended! Their good energy must have been contagious as the majority of guests found there way to the dance floor much earlier then I had anticipated. These good people grooved to party hits from many different genres. Stephanie Day of Stephanie Day Events worked along side [...]

Dana & CJ’s Wedding + Reception at The Maryland Zoo’s Mansion House

Last night at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore Dana & CJ became husband and wife and then celebrated with a party in the Zoo's Mansion House. Mr. & Mrs. Ayd had their bridal party walk into The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" and then they made their grand entrance to Nelly's "Hot In Here". CJ is the Ravens fan and his wife is a Redskins fan. No compromise there! A first dance to The Eagles "Love Will Keep Us Alive" followed the introductions. Rouge Catering kept the guests fed and well hydrated with an amazing meal and a full bar. I enjoyed working along side DBryant Photography and Videographer Frank Ayd who captured every moment and memory. After dinner the groom and his groomsmen danced for the bride to a super fun choreographed number to Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk". Guests joined in on [...]

Yvonne & David’s wedding + reception at The Vandiver Inn

Yesterday at The Vandiver Inn near the mouth of The Chesapeake Bay in Havre de Grace, Yvonne & David became Mr. & Mrs. Smith! It was a family affair on their end and mine as my wife, Reverend Simmone Marsden with Ceremony Officiants married Yvonne & David and then turned it over to me to entertain them. I had known that David was a graduate of my alma mater, however I hadn't realized that my mother had been his nursery school teacher! As usual The Vandiver staff knocked it out of the park in their usual way with great food, service and unlimited smiles. Photographer Jill Fannon captured every memorable event including the newlyweds first dance to "Marry Me'' by Train. Guest requests ranged from Guns n Roses to Usher and for a Sunday wedding I was happily surprised that the [...]

Tammy & Jason’s Wedding + Reception at The Vandiver Inn

It was a beautiful Sunday in Havre de Grace, MD to get married and that's exactly what Tammy & Jason did today at The Vandiver Inn. Surrounded by their family members and closest friends they were married by Officiant Natalie Tyler and became Mr. & Mrs. McNair. Cocktail hour followed the ceremony and after their grand entrance the bride and groom danced their first dance as a married couple to a classic, "At Last" by Etta James. The reception/party followed and requests for songs by artists like Meghan Trainor, Bruno Marrs and Christina Perri kept the guests up and grooving. I enjoyed working along side Photographer Lisa McCraw of Oh! Shoot Photography as she captured all the fun and memories. Tammy & Jason congratulations!

Cindy & Melissa’s Wedding + Reception at The Vandiver Inn

Last night Cindy & Melissa were married at The Vandiver Inn. The weather in Havre de Grace was picture perfect for these two amazing ladies to say "I do". Following the ceremony guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails inside the Vandiver Mansion. Bridal party introductions were followed by a first dance to "I Choose You" be Sarah Bareilles and then they both danced with their fathers to Heartland's "I Loved Her First". Dinner was presented in three different stations. Cindy & Melissa decided to avoid the usual wedding formalities and just have a party. Their friends and family grooved to hits by Madonna, The Cure, The Beastie Boys and sets of Motown classics just to name a few. Photographer extraordinaire James Berglie of Be Photography captured all the fun and then some. We ended the night with Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" [...]

Stephanie & James Wedding + Reception at The Vandiver Inn

Mr. & Mrs. Cole tied the knot and celebrated by throwing a party with their friends and family last night at The Vandiver Inn. A beautiful ceremony was complimented by a light snow fall. Guests were wined and dined by The Vandiver staff and then grooved to the classics. Motown, Funk and just a splash of Top 40 Hits kept this group dancing throughout the night. Stephanie & James danced their first dance as a married couple to "Old Fashioned" by Cee Lo Green and ended the night with John Legend's "Stay With You". The party didn't end after the last dance as guests joined Mr. & Mrs. Cole for an afterparty at MacGregors. It was a classy and fun night in Havre de Grace last night. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Maryclaire & Mostafa’s Reception at The American Visionary Museum

Last night's Bride & Groom were married last year so most of the usual wedding formalities were passed up in favor of a great meal and an even better party at The American Visionary Art Museum. Maryclaire & Mostafa along with their family and friends just wanted to celebrate their love and enjoy the evening with their favorite people. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and an amazing meal were provided by my friends at Rouge Catering. Music for the cocktail hour was a mix of jazz and arabic selections while the newlyweds danced their first dance to Pink Martini's "Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here". The dance floor was packed from the first dance song to the last. Guests grooved and sang along to music from The Beatles, Earth Wind & Fire, Tom Petty, Pitbull and more. Donna Summer's "Last Dance" wrapped up the dancing [...]

Amber & Chris’s Wedding + Reception at The Vandiver Inn

It sure was a great way to start the 2015 wedding season! Last night Amber & Chris became Mr. & Mrs. Steel in Havre de Grace at The Vandiver Inn. The ceremony was followed by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, dinner and then...the party! The bride and groom and their VIPS were introduced into the reception to "Shut Up And Dance" by WALK THE MOON. That was followed by Amber & Chris's first dance as husband and wife: "I Don't Dance" by Lee Brice. An incredible meal was provided by the Vandiver staff and then guests cut a rug to 80's classics, 90's hip hop and just a bit of country music. A packed dance floor all night long led to an after party at MacGregor's. Great night with fun people. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Steel!

Beth & Tim’s Wedding + Reception at The Vandiver Inn

Last night was another magical night at The Vandiver Inn. Beth & Tim said "I do" and became the new Mr. & Mrs. Tourville. A small, intimate ceremony was held in the parlor and then the reception followed in the newly renovated, warm and comfortable pavilion. Mr. & Mrs. Tourville danced to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds for their first dance as a married couple. Dinner followed their dance and as usual, Chef Susan knocked it out of the park! The bride & groom were big fans of music from the 80's and 90's so we heard hits from artists like Incubus, Tears For Fears, Huey Lewis & The News and more. Semisonic's "Closing Time" wrapped up a great party. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Tourville!
