They say Virginia is for lovers. Chrissy & Fernando celebrated their love with their families and friends in Leesburg, VA this past Saturday. Both their wedding & reception were held at Raspberry Plain Manor, one of the principal Mason Family estates of Northern VA and it was the perfect setting for Chrissy & Fernando. Their ceremony music consisted of various string quartet selections and a recessional to “If Not For You” by George Harrison. A mix of bossa nova jazz, drinks and appetizers made for a wonderful cocktail hour that followed the ceremony. DJ Frank Marsden invited everyone to gather in the Manor’s Grand Conservatory Room and then formally introduced the newlyweds. After being introduced, Chrissy & Fernando danced their first dance as a married couple to “In The Morning” by Fleet Foxes, Chrissy & her Father danced to Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young” and then Fernando & his Mother had their turn and danced to “Volare” by Domenico Modugno. A buffet meal, toasts, and a cake cutting took place before the dance party started. Lots of fun Latin music moved guests of all ages as well as songs by Daft Punk, ABBA, Talking Heads, Bjork, LCD Sound System and many more. Saturday’s festivities ended with George Harrison’s “You” and all guests joining the newlyweds on the dance floor and then a sparkler exit. Chrissy & Fernando were wonderful to work with and we thank them for trusting us to be such a big part of their wedding day. The last weekend of June started with Kelly & Joe’s wedding + reception at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace, MD. Their ceremony took place on the back lawn of the farmhouse with a beautiful view of the landscaped gardens and the Chesapeake Bay. The ceremony featured string quartet selections and a recessional to “Safe and Sound” by Captial Cities. Folks then enjoyed cocktails and appetizers inside the farmhouse and on the back lawn. They were invited to find their tables and seats under the tented area prior to a formal introduction of the newlyweds by DJ/MC Frank Marsden to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Kelly & Joe danced their first dance as a married couple to Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and then the Bride’s Father took up his guitar and serenaded his daughter by playing Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”. A buffet meal put together by the Zeffert and Gold Catering and Event Planning Staff was amazing and had guests raving. As the last table sat down to eat, the Bride and her Father danced to “My Girl” by The Temptations and then Joe and his Mother danced to “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The celebration kicked off as “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars brought the party crowd to the dance floor. Songs by The Beatles, Montel Jordan, Nelly, The B-52’s, Cardi B, Backstreet Boys and more had everyone dancing and singing the night away. A cake cutting to DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean” and the last dance song to “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC wrapped up a wonderful evening. Last night in Hunt Valley, MD, Emily & Nick celebrated their wedding day with a reception at Embassy Suites. Upon their arrival, guests enjoyed appetizers and an open bar upon in the Hotel’s beautiful lobby. Before gathering the Bridal Party, DJ Frank Marsden invited everyone into the Hotel’s Ballroom for formal introductions and dinner. Parents, Bridal Party Members, and Mr. & Mrs. Kottraba were all introduced into the reception while “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas was playing. The newlyweds danced their first dance as husband & wife to “Running Home To You” by Grant Gustin and all couples joined them halfway through. Toasts by the Best Man and Matron of Honor preceded salads and a served meal. Dinner ended, the dancing tunes began, and the party happened! Emily & Nick cut their cake, desserts were enjoyed and the rest of the night was simply a celebration. Songs by artists such as Drake, The Proclaimers, The Sugarhill Gang, Van Morrison, Sia and many more kept the energy level high and the dancefloor packed. Emily & Nick’s wedding day ended with a congratulatory last song; “Congratulations” by Post Malone. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Emily & Nick and we wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Kottraba a lifetime of all good things!
Katherine & Matt are husband & wife! Their big day happened Saturday at the Vineyards of Mary’s Meadows in Northern Harford County, MD. The sky was ominous, but the weather held out and Katie & Matt were able to be married outside, behind the Vineyard’s barn. The ceremony featured a processional to an instrumental version of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and a recessional to “Home” by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. An hour of cocktails and appetizers followed the ceremony with some great food provided by Dinner On The Go Food Truck. DJ Frank Marsden invited everyone to the Barn’s upper area for toasts by Matt’s Father, Katherine’s Maid of Honor, Matt’s Best Man, and a wonderful buffet meal. Later on, folks were invited to the Barn’s lower area for formal dances and a party. Katie & Matt started things off with a first dance to “Grow Old With Me” by Tom Odell. A Father/Daughter dance to “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart and a Mother/Son dance to Aimee Zimmerman’s “A Mother’s Love” came next, and then the celebration began with folks singing along and dancing to “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers. Guests enjoyed cupcakes, drinks and a super fun dance floor full of party people! Music by artists such as Bell Biv Devoe, Outkast, Rihanna, Blink 182, R. Kelly and many more made it happen. The Bride tossed her bouquet to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and then the party continued. Everything about Katie & Matt’s big day was amazing and it ended with an epic sing along to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Thanks to Katie & Matt for allowing us to spend the day with them and high fives to the Vineyard’s crew for another successful event in Darlington, MD.
Friday night at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, just across the Bay Bridge on Kent Island, MD, Lauren & Ryan became Mr. & Mrs. Friedman! The evening began with an outdoor ceremony and cocktails on the Club’s deck. After enjoying appetizers and libations, DJ Frank Marsden invited guests to find their tables and seats inside the Beach Club’s Beach House then introduced the Parents into the reception while playing “Living In America” by James Brown for Lauren’s Parents and “Love On Top” by Beyonce for Ryan’s Mother & Father. The Bridal Party were formally introduced to Kanye West & T-Pain’s “Good Life” and then Lauren & Ryan made their grand entrance to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. The newlyweds enjoyed their first dance to “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” by Meghan Trainor & John Legend. Toasts by both Maids of Honor and the Best Men preceded a wonderful served meal. As dinner service wrapped up, Ryan danced with his Mother to “Always Be Your Mom” by Aimee Zimmerman and then Lauren and her Father shared a dance to Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl”. Other then a bouquet toss to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, the rest of the night was about dancing and partying with friends and family. Songs by artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, Chris Brown and many more kept Lauren & Ryan’s dance party bumpin’! Thier perfect day ended with all couples joining the Bride & Groom for a last dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. We wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Friedman lots of love, magical moments, and a lifetime of happiness!
Yesterday afternoon in Darlington, MD, Amber & Christopher tied the knot! Their wedding + reception were both held at the Vineyards of Mary’s Meadows. The couple’s plans for an outdoor ceremony didn’t happen due to the rain, but they were able to use the lower barn area and “Plan B” went off without a hitch. The Bride’s Uncle Charlie officiated the ceremony that ended with a recessional to Reliant K’s “The Best Thing”. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before heading upstairs to the upper barn area for formal introductions and dinner. DJ Frank Marsden got the Bridal Party together and introduced them into the reception while playing “Marry Me” by Jason Derulo. Amber & Chris then danced their first dance as a married couple to Dan + Shay’s “From The Ground Up” before toasts, a blessing, and a buffet meal provided by the folks with Mission BBQ. The Bride and her Father shared a dance during dinner to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and then Chris and his Mother danced to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. A cake was cut, cupcakes and other snacks were enjoyed and then we moved the party back down to the barn’s lower area for drinks and dancing. We kicked off the party with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston and followed that with hits from Lady Gaga, The Rednex, Chris Brown, Silento, Outkast and many more. Midway through the reception, the Bride tossed her bouquet to the girls while “Single Ladies” by Beyonce was playing. Mrs. Colburn was then asked to take a seat while “Pony” by Ginuwine was played and her husband removed her garter. That was it for formal events, the remainder of the night all about the party. All parties must end, and Amber & Chris’s came to a close with all couples joining them on the dance floor for a dance to “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. We wish Mr. & Mrs. Colburn all the best and thank our fellow vendors and the wonderful team at the Vineyards of Mary’s Meadows for being a part of yesterday’s happy little production!
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. McVey aka Alysia & Casey! Their relationship was celebrated yesterday at The Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow with a fun ceremony and a rocking reception. Reverand Frank McFadden married Alysia & Casey on the back lawn of the Vineyards beautiful barn. The ceremony featured a version of “Perfect” played on violin by Andre Soueid, a processional to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” and super fun recessional to “Fireball” by Pitbull feat. John Ryan. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and appetizers after that in the lower half of the Barn as the upper area was set up for the beginning of the reception. DJ Frank Marsden gathered the Bridal Party and introduced Parents into the reception while playing “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, Bridesmaids & Groomsmen entered to T.I.’s “Bring Em Out”, and then Mr. & Mrs. McVey made their grand entrance to “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars. The newlyweds had a first dance following intros to “Until The End Of Time” by Justin Timberlake & Beyonce before toasts by the Maid of Honor & Best Man. Mission BBQ provided a delicious buffet of good eats for all, Alysia danced with her Father to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, Casey & his Mother danced to “A Song For Mama” by Boyz II Men, the cake was cut and then all guests were invited downstairs for dancing. Songs by Van Morrison, Spice Girls, 69 Boyz, Sia, Bob Segar, Haddaway and more were requested by the Bride & Groom and enjoyed by all. Mid-way through the party, DJ Frank invited all married couples to the dancefloor for an Anniversary Dance to Dan + Shay’s “From The Ground Up” and Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight”. The lovely couple that was the last on the dancefloor had been married for 66 years! An exceptional evening of love, friendship, good eats and fun tunes wrapped up with full dancefloor and the sounds of “Shake Senora” by Pitbull feat. T-Pain & Sean Paul. The Vineyards crew was wonderful to work with as always, and yesterday wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for some great vendors; Mission BBQ, the ladies from Gina Holcomb Photography, and Prints Charming Photo Booths.
The sun came out yesterday and Erica & Danny got married! Sunday in historic Ellicott City, at the beautiful Main Street Ballroom, Erica & Danny became Mr. & Mrs. Wizzman and then celebrated their marriage with a reception. Just after noon, the happy couple said their vows to each other, took a shot of whiskey, and then chased that with a recessional to “Loving You Easy” by Zac Brown Band. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and appetizers inside and outside of the Ballroom while photographer Sara Vars of Sara Vars Photography snapped photos of the Bride & Groom’s families and friends. DJ Frank Marsden gathered the Bridal Party and introduced each couple to various songs, and introduced Erica & Danny formally into the reception to “The Walker” by Fitz & the Tantrums. Their first dance was next and they danced to Frankie Ballard’s “It All Started With A Beer”. After everyone found their seats, the Bride’s Maid of Honor and the Groom’s Best Man both raised a drink to toast the newlyweds before Erica & Danny’s Fathers each welcomed and thanked guests for being a part of the big day. Zeffert and Gold Catering and Event Planning opened up a fabulous buffet meal that people were raving about, and as the last table finished their meals, Erica and her Father shared a dance to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. DJ Frank invited all parents and their children to join the Bride and her Father and then opened up the dance floor for all guests. Songs by artists like Young MC, Walk The Moon, Rod Stewart, The Romantics, V.I.C. and more kept the energy level high and the dance floor full all afternoon. We took a break for a cake cutting, cupcakes and homemade donuts about midway through the celebration, and wrapped up the day with everybody circled around the Bride & Groom singing along to Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel”. It was a wonderful way to bring the weekend to a close with sunshine, good tunes, yummy food and fun people! Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Wizzman!
So there was a wedding in England yesterday, but there was also an amazing wedding celebration in Bel Air, MD as well! Tayler & BJ became Mr. & Mrs. Blaker and then celebrated with a reception at the Bride’s parents home in Northern Bel Air. DJ Frank Marsden was there to play the hits, the ladies from Affairs Extraordinaire by Marta kept the evening flowing along nicely, our friends with Editing Life Videography captured all the fun, and the nice people from Box Hill Pizzaria/Catering provided appetizers and a buffet meal. Before Tayler & BJ and their Bridal Party arrived from the church, friends and family members were already at the reception enjoying cocktails and good eats. Formal introductions featured a medley of songs with the Bride & Groom entering to “My House” by Flo Rida. They then danced their first dance as a married couple to Jason Aldean’s “You Make It Easy”. A welcome by Father of the Bride preceded a buffet meal, and the meal was followed by a Father/Daughter dance to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle, a Mother/Son dance to Tim McGraw’s “Humble & Kind” and an invitation to all Mothers & Sons to join BJ and his Mother during their dance. The dance floor was opened up to all guests with Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” chosen as the first “party song” of the night to get it going. DJ Frank fielded requests from artists like; ABBA, Will Smith, Wilson Phillips, Shania Twain, Fetty Wap, Trick Daddy and many more. Later on in the night, Tayler tossed her bouquet as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper was playing, BJ removed his wife’s garter to “Ice, Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice and then there was a garter “exchange” to “Bad Boys” by Inner Circle. Before heading out to the Green Turtle in Aberdeen for an after party, Semisonic’s “Closing Time” brought everyone to the dance floor to wrap up Tayler & BJ’s big day.
Despite the weather, Heather & Tommy’s wedding + reception at Pond View Farm in Whitehall, MD went off without a hitch and was both beautiful and fun! Their ceremony took place underneath the newly renovated pavilion with the Bride proceeding down the aisle to Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” and a recessional with her husband to Josh Turner’s “Would You Go With Me”. Following the ceremony, Heather & Tommy joined Photographer Leah Adkins with Leah Adkins Photography for a photo shoot while family and friends enjoyed drinks and appetizers. DJ Frank Marsden invited everyone into Pond View’s stunning barn to find their table and seats before formally introducing the Bridal Party. Parents were walked in to “I Don’t Need Your Rocking Chair” by George Jones, Bridesmaids, and Groomsmen to Hank Williams, Jr.’s “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight”, and Heather & Tommy were introduced in while DJ Frank played “White Lightning” by George Jones. Their first dance happened just after intros and was to “Soulmate” by Josh Turner. A blessing by Bishop Bill preceded a yummy buffet meal put together by Pond View’s Pit Crew. As the last table made their way through the buffet, Heather & her Father danced to “Just Fishin'” by Trace Adkins followed by Tommy & Mom’s dance to “A Mother’s Song” by T Carter Music. The remainder of the evening was about celebrating with folks dancing to songs by artists such as; The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Nelly, Kenny Loggins, Modern English and many more. Heather tossed her bouquet to “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” by Shania Twain, then Tommy removed her garter while ZZ Top’s “Legs” was played. Friday’s wedding wrapped up with all guests joining Mr. & Mrs. Lough for a final dance to “Waitin’ On A Woman” by Brad Paisley. The start of a big weekend was so much fun and we thank our friends at Pond View, Photographer Leah Adkins, and Heather & Tommy for that.
