Just as the clouds parted and the sun broke through, Kay & Jimmy said “I do” yesterday at The Donaldson Brown Conference Center in Port Deposit, MD. This beautiful and somewhat unknown venue offers an incredible setting overlooking the Susquehanna River. After Kay & Jimmy read their vows to each other and were pronounced Husband and Wife, Laurrapin Grille Catering served up some incredible eats and guests enjoyed cocktails. We formally introduced the bridal party into the ballroom to “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince and then the bride danced with her father, the groom danced with his mother and then the new Mr. & Mrs. Dyches danced their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James. Toasts and a blessing by the bride’s father preceded an amazing buffet meal and then we cut the cake which led to one of the funniest moments of last night’s celebration. Kay gave her husband a face full of cake and then bolted off the dance floor to escape any retaliation! The remainder of the evening was dedicated to dancing to songs by House of Pain, AC/DC, Prince and many more. Family and friends gathered around Kay & Jimmy and sang along to “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers, their official last dance which quickly led to a chant by the groomsmen that prompted us to play “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. A great venue, awesome line up of vendors and two people who are madly in love made yesterday’s celebration outstanding. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Dyches!
