Last night at the Maryland Zoo’s Mansion House, Kate & John officially became Mr. & Mrs. Pickering! They chose Alan Silvestri’s “Forest Gump Suite” for their Mothers to walk down the aisle, “Jurassic Park” by Brooklyn Duo for the Bridesmaids and processional and John William’s “Jurassic Park Theme” for their recessional. After saying “I do”, they joined their family and friends for cocktails and appetizers and visited with the Zoo’s animal ambassadors who stopped by while the ceremony space was transformed into a beautiful reception area. Our friends from Beg Steal Borrow provided flowers that really complimented the Mansion House’s decor. We introduced the Bridal Party and the newlyweds into the reception to “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” by Michael Jackson and then Kate & John danced their first dance to Billy Joel’s “Just The Way You Are”. Santoni’s Catering provided a truly magnificent buffet meal that had folk’s returning for seconds. As the meal was wrapping up, we invited Kate and her Father to the dance floor and they danced to “Wild Flowers” by Tom Petty and then John danced with his Mother to a version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Eric Clapton. About midway through the celebration, Mr. & Mrs. Pickering cut the cake and then joined everyone on the dance floor and grooved to hits by Whitney Houston, Rob Base, Run DMC, Backstreet Boys, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5 and more. A great party ended with a packed dance floor and everyone singing along to “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC. We loved working with Kate & John and helping them make their vision a reality. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
