Dr. & Dr. Fisher aka Meredith & William got married yesterday and then celebrated with all of their favorite people with a reception at the Turn House restaurant in Columbia, MD. Guests arrived around 5:30 pm following the ceremony and enjoyed cocktails and a wonderful selection of hors d’oeuvres. Musical selections for the cocktail hour included multiple tracks by Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto and other songs with a bossa nova feel. The newlyweds were formally introduced by DJ Frank Marsden into their reception while “The One Moment” by OK Go was played. There was blessing, a welcome by the Mother of the Bride, and toasts by the Maid of Honor and Best Man prior to dinner; a wonderful meal with various stations to chose from. Mr. & Mrs. Fisher danced their first dance as married couple following dinner to “This Will Be Our Year” covered by the Foo Fighters. Other then a cake cutting to Cake’s “Love You Madly”, the rest of last night was about catching up with friends and family and dancing to songs by artists like Daft Punk, New Radicals, ABBA, The Cure, and many more. Saturday nights festivities ended with a last song request by the Bride & Groom for “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. The Turn House staff was great, working with Stephanie Day with Stephanie Day Events & Travel was lots of fun, and providing Dr. & Dr. Fisher’s soundtrack for their big day was wonderful.
