What a great party! Staci & Scott’s wedding reception last night at the Maryland Zoo’s Mansion House was so much fun. Their ceremony featured the Bride’s Sister as the Officiant and a processional to “Christmas Canon” by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. After a formal presentation and a kiss, Mr. & Mrs. Johnston recessed to “Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors. Cocktail hour took place on the front enclosed porch of the Mansion House where guests enjoyed a wonderful spread of appetizers and cocktails and had the opportunity to meet two of the Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors; a skunk and a penguin. After DJ Frank Marsden invited everyone to their tables for the reception and a low key introduction of the Bride & Groom, Jessica (Staci’s Sister & the Officiant) made a toast to the newlyweds and then a served meal from Hunt Valley Catering was enjoyed by all. Staci & Scott took to the dance floor following dinner and danced their first dance as a married couple to “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen. Staci then danced with her Father to Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” followed by a Mother/Son dance to a version of “Because You Loved Me” by Daniel Broines. Seats emptied and bodies were gyrating on the dance floor from that point on through the last song with Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance” opening up the party portion of the evening. Last night’s playlist included songs by; Pink, Jason Derulo, One Direction, Justin Timberlake, Kool & The Gang, Elvis Presley, and many more. Half way through the party, DJ Frank had guests join Staci & Scott for their cake cutting while playing “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) by Marvin Gaye & Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me” before inviting them back to the dance floor for a bouquet toss to “Single Ladies” by Beyonce, and then a garter removal, toss, and exchange to “Worth It” by Fifth Harmony. An epic evening of love, laughter, and fun wrapped up with a sing a long to “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and a round of applause and hugs for Staci & Scott. Thanks to the Zoo’s Staff and Olivia Rehman Photography for being great teammates and congratulations, high fives, lots of love, and a thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Johnston for having us with them for one of the biggest days of their lives!
